Day Medicine is a busy and expanding Ambulatory Care day unit within FVRH that operates Monday to Friday 8am -6pm and weekends 8am-2pm, caring for patients from a wide variety of specialities. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated band 6 registered (first level) Deputy Charge Nurse. Responsibilities will include, supporting the Senior Charge Nurse with the daily running of the department, co-ordinating staff, problem solving, assisting with the management and development of the staff and performance of the team, along with the Senior Charge Nurse. The successful candidate should have excellent communication and leadership skills, have a caring and professional manner, be able to deliver a high standard of evidence based/person centred care, be flexible and able to adapt to an unpredictable working environment on a daily basis, work with members of the multi-disciplinary team at all levels. Must have an understanding of, and be able to contribute to the development of, protocols and procedures and have an appetite for self development. Relevant experience at band 5 is essential and experience within Day Medicine is desirable. This post is 32hrs per week.
