About the Role
Devon County Council have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Care Team Manager to join our Assessment team within Children's Social Care. The key purpose of the role is to improve the outcomes for our most vulnerable young people and families in Devon to encourage positive change. Our Team Managers make a vital contribution to delivering high-quality social care services. As a social work practitioner team manager in Devon, you will embed a high-performance, collaborative culture by supporting your team to continually develop their skills to achieve the best possible outcomes for our children, young people, and their families. Through reflective supervision meetings with your team, you'll champion their personal and professional growth. You will also provide oversight on all our children and young people, ensuring quality standards are maintained whilst championing restorative practice.
About You
Advocating for the children and young people of Devon, you will model social work practice that is of a high standard and in line with statutory obligations. You will champion restorative practice and encourage a collaborative culture, where opportunities for reflection and learning are supported.
You will be passionate about relationship-based social work and proud of your profession. You will be able to reflect and think creatively about how you can support your social work teams to build relationships that make a difference to the children and families of Devon.
Your skills and experience will include:
1. A social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
2. Satisfactory completion of your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
3. Experience working within social care, including working in a multi-agency and court environment
4. A high-level of written and verbal communication skills*
5. The ability to build effective professional relationships with children, families, and other professionals
6. Knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to children’s social work
7. Exceptional recording and planning skills
8. A valid UK driving licence and access to a car*
