Tofunction as the lead practitioner for an operating theatre or a designated area, implementing programmes of care for patient undergoing theatre procedures. To provide clinical expertise, acting as a positive, professional, and visible role model at all times. To contribute to an effective, motivated, and competent workforce and ensure that high quality standards are maintained and developed.
They will assist in the management of the theatres to ensure excellence in patient care and to have responsibility for staff and service development. Promote and collaborate in developing good working relationships with departments to ensure the patient journey is effective and efficient.
To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the needs of patients on an ongoing basis, co-ordinating the care given by all members of the clinical team.
To contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and standard setting in line with trust and national guidance.
To demonstrate clinical expertise and act as a resource of specialised knowledge, ensuring care delivered to the client group is appropriate and optimum.
Demonstrate the ability to function competently both as a leader and as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
To provide an efficient and effective support to the registered practitioners and multidisciplinary team within the operating theatre department.
To work in partnership with the Team Leaders/Managers, collaborating with other health care professionals in the delivery of high standards of effective health care within best practice guidelines.
Lead and develop the speciality area, acting as a role model for the clinical team.
