Curriculum Leader - Science Thank you for your interest in working at George Mitchell School. We are looking to appoint a Curriculum leader for Science to lead our Science team, build on our improving outcomes and further enthuse our students. George Mitchell is a unique through school with four form entry into the Secondary provision. The Science department has four full time teachers, a technician and four laboratories. One team member has responsibility for KS3 Science. At Key Stage 3 the curriculum is delivered via a modified version of the Active Science course and designed to prepare pupils for AQA Science GCSEs. Triple Science is a very popular choice and our students are ambitious. On the whole, students are naturally curious about Science and are clear about its importance for their future career choices. We are a happy school with low staff turnover, a positive culture and good relationships between staff and students. Following a recent inspection Ofsted commented that ‘Pupils are polite and friendly; most behave well and have positive attitudes to learning.’ The school is extremely ambitious and continually improving in all aspects.
