: Project Engineer / Planner (Rotary Aircraft)

Job Description
This post is for a Project Engineer reporting to the Project Engineering Manager. The role will assist the Vertical Lift Chief Engineer by supporting the delivery of the Vertical Lift (VL) programme objectives, ensuring that assigned activities are appropriately coordinated, managed and reported. This role is primarily based at Bristol, with Yeovil offered as a secondary work location. The role will involve occasional travel to other sites, and options exist for hybrid working.
Key Tasks include:
1. Providing coordination to engineering teams representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.
2. Developing and maintaining Supplier Statements of Work (SSOWs) to satisfy current and emerging programme requirements.
3. Championing systems engineering best practice in the management of the programme requirements hierarchy, ensuring that requirements are of a good quality with an associated compliance verification strategy, are allocated appropriately, and have adequately traceability between the different requirement tiers.
4. Working with programme leadership to obtain required approvals to ensure business continuity for tasks relating to the proposed delivery of the VL contracted service.
5. Coordinating project proposal activities and ensuring the engineering leadership team are aware of proposal gate milestones and objectives.
6. Identifying metrics and reporting to programme leadership to provide a status of functional performance.
Preferred Skills and Experience
7. A Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or an engineering related field, with experience in requirements management for systems and / or services.
8. Experience in Project Planning and Management; Excellent SE knowledge and skills, Good IT skills; Excellent Customer Facing Skills.
9. Knowledge of the Chinook and/or Apache rotorcraft platforms.
10. Registration with the Engineering Council as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer (IEng or CEng), or be able to demonstrate the ability to work towards IEng/CEng.
11. Knowledge of Military Airworthiness Authority (MAA) Regulatory Articles.
