Are you a passionate veterinary professional seeking an exciting leadership opportunity? Animals’ 1st in MacMerry is looking for a Clinical Director to join our thriving team on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave (6-8 months).
Your Role
As Clinical Director, you’ll lead a single-site small animal practice alongside the Practice Manager, with strong support from the Area Director and Area Support Manager. The role is predominantly clinical, involving consultations, surgeries, and overseeing clinical standards.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing strong leadership to support the team in delivering best practices and optimal patient outcomes.
* Managing financial performance and helping the team achieve set goals.
* Organizing vet rotas and mentoring junior vets in this busy first-opinion practice.
* Ensuring compliance with IVC policies and procedures.
* Collaborating with the Practice Manager and Head Nurse to support the team, clients, and community.
* Overseeing the relocation of our practice to a new, purpose-built site in 2025.
What We Offer
* Flexible Rota Patterns: Up to 40 hours per week across 4 days with potential to work from home one day per week if needed, including a Saturday rota (9 am-12 pm). No OOH work (covered by Vets Now and a sister practice).
* Modern Facilities: Well-equipped practice with in-house lab facilities, digital radiography, and ultrasound. Our current site has a theatre and dental suite, with exciting plans for a purpose-built site next year.
* Location: Based in East Lothian, with easy access to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the beautiful Scottish countryside.
