Davenport House Surgery is looking for a 4 session Salaried GP serving 12,900 patients. Our team consists of 3 partners, 3 salaried GPs, and 1 ANP, along with additional roles including Physician Associate, Health & Wellbeing Coaches, Physiotherapists, Pharmacists, Mental Health Support Worker & FCP, and Social Prescribing Link Worker. We have a friendly and forward-thinking team with an excellent nursing team managing all LTCs and a skilled admin team led by our practice manager, minimizing non-clinical workload. We provide mentor support, regular in-house meetings, and access to training. We are constantly looking at ways to improve our patient care, systems, and work-life balance.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of practice duties, including face-to-face consultations, telephone consultations, and rare home/care home visits. Duties include actioning bloods, checking and signing EPS repeat prescriptions and PA scripts, and dealing with queries. Responsibilities also include:
1. Making professional, autonomous decisions regarding presenting problems.
2. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
3. Developing care plans for patients with long-term conditions.
4. Providing counselling and health education.
5. Admitting or discharging patients to/from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
6. Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary and ICB guidelines.
7. Supporting/supervising Physician Associates when required.
8. Supervising GP Registrars.
9. Managing and supporting ongoing palliative care and elderly care case loads.
