With a budget of around £365m, three hospitals, and 5,500 staff, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital-based services to Hartlepool, Stockton-on-Tees, parts of East Durham and Sedgefield, as well as community, therapeutic, and screening services across Durham and Teesside.

The Enhanced Care Worker will provide therapeutic interaction and support to patients with complex health and social needs on a one-to-one basis, respecting their individuality, confidentiality, and dignity.
They will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members to ensure high and consistent standards of enhanced care, following assessment and planning by the Enhanced Care Coordinator.
This role involves working with patients in the enhanced care activity room and on the ward.

Main duties of the job
To provide enhanced care to patients with complex needs within inpatient wards or departments, as directed by a Registered Nurse, including:
* Enhanced observation of suitable patients, including those with dementia, learning disabilities, mental health issues, drug and alcohol withdrawal, falls, risk of absconding, self-harm, and delirium.
* Accompanying patients, allowing walking with staff permission.
* Using meaningful activities to engage patients.
* Talking and listening to patients.
* Assisting with nutritional and hydration needs under staff guidance.
* Accompanying patients for appointments with staff permission.
* Recording clinical observations accurately.
* Helping patients with washing, toileting, and dressing using manual handling techniques.
* Providing advice, support, and reassurance to patients and families while maintaining privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.

* NVQ Level II in Care or Level 3 Diploma in Care / Qualified Modern Apprentice in Health Care
