THE ROLE
We're looking for an exceptional Midweight Motion Designer to join our industry-leading design studio. Your collaborative and intelligent approach to the design of our AV marketing materials will drive creative that is talked about and adds value for our clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Design, create and develop award-worthy motion graphics including, but not limited to, title sequences and treatments, social, digital out of home, branding and subtitles as required across IGN’s entertainment clients.
2. Own and assist in creating innovative concepts and solutions that exceed project briefs by collaborating with the Producer, Creative Director / Head of Design.
3. Follow client briefs and have the confidence to suggest creative ideas which will benefit the project.
4. Be a key player in the wider design team as well as working cross-departmental and ensuring the motion design department is fully integrated within the agency.
5. Have the flexibility to be able to perform to a high standard across a variety of jobs from originated title treatments through to subtitling and localisations projects.
6. Quickly master various clients’ toolkits and set them up for maximum efficiency and accuracy.
7. The ability to follow internal workflows and best practices throughout the lifecycle of each project.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. 5+ years of design experience in an agency, production company, studio or broadcaster.
2. A design intelligence that means you interpret briefs and feedback to ensure we always aim to exceed clients’ expectations.
3. Have a strong understanding of all forms of design with a particular interest in typography and animation for design within the context of entertainment advertising industry.
4. Expert user of the Adobe Suite including After Effects and Photoshop as well as Cinema 4D and all associated software required to create outstanding work.
5. Be able to communicate effectively with your team, ensuring all correspondence is articulate and within a timely manner.
6. Manage your schedule and routinely share work-in-progress designs with the wider team to enable collaboration.
7. Have strong pitch skills both in ideation, deck building and presentation with the ability to explain the process behind each stage.
8. Be able to make quick, well-informed decisions with a strong attitude to teamwork.
9. Have a deep understanding of how to set up projects to maximise efficiency and creativity.
10. Be aware of the latest creative and marketing trends and how they could be used whilst continually developing and refining your understanding of all areas of design to ensure we stay ahead of the competition and our creative responses are perfectly pitched.
11. A passion for motion design with outstanding conceptual and creative skills.
12. The ability to QC your own work to ensure accuracy and a good awareness of compliance.
13. Must be a clear thinker and have the ability to remain calm under pressure.
14. A demonstrable love of cinema and TV.
