The post holder will be responsible for the leadership of the day-to-day provision of CT services at PAHT, ensuring the suites are run in an efficient and effective manner and that patients are given appointments commensurate with their clinical needs. The post holder will provide high-profile clinical specialist support to the CT Radiographers and the department. They will liaise with the departmental Superintendent Radiographers regarding staffing and other resource issues and supervise dedicated CT staff. This service is key to operational priorities within the Directorate, and the post holder will be expected to interact with senior members of the hospital staff, reporting and advising on service demands and delivery. The post holder will articulate knowledgeably and effectively on complex technical issues to all service users.
The post holder will lead a highly efficient and productive CT service across 3 scanners at PAH and later 2 scanners at SMH, acting as a clinical expert in their field. In December 2025, we will go live with stage 2 of our CDC development programme, which will include 2 additional CT scanners at St. Margaret’s Hospital. As our radiographers rotate across both sites, the post holder will lead both CT services. The CT service comprises acute scanning, inpatient, and outpatient services, including CT colonography and cardiac imaging. They will work alongside the radiology management to develop policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure the department meets the standards set by CQC, as well as working with the Radiology Control team to ensure compliance with key performance indicators. Attendance at departmental meetings is also required.
