We are looking to appoint an experienced Cover Supervisor to provide continuity of education for pupils whose lessons are affected by short term absence of the class teacher.
Key responsibilities:
* Supervising pupils undertaking work that has been set in accordance with the Academy’s policy, under the guidance of teaching/senior staff.
* Establishing productive working relationships with students, promoting positive values/attitudes and setting high expectations.
* Monitoring and evaluation of students’ responses to learning activities through observation and recording of achievement and providing feedback/reports as required.
* Encouraging students to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all students in activities.
* Effective use of ICT to support learning activities and develop students’ competence and independent use.
Qualifications and Skills:
* 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent.
* Qualification in Level 3 Cover Supervision, HLTA or equivalent.
* Experience of planning, implementing and evaluating learning activities.
* Knowledge and understanding of how children learn and how to motivate them.

West Walsall E-ACT Academy is a mixed, mainstream, state secondary school in Walsall. It caters to students aged 11-18 and has approximately 622 pupils enrolled. The school boasts enviable sports facilities such as a football and athletics field, eight tennis courts, a heated swimming pool, a gym, a squash court, a large astroturf pitch and a sports hall.
West Walsall E-ACT Academy was originally opened in September 1971 as Wilfred Clark Comprehensive. It later became known as Alumwell Business and Enterprise College, and then West Walsall E-ACT Academy when it converted to academy status in September 2012. It is part of the E-ACT family of academy schools.
