Assistant Manager, Corporate Tax – Statutory Compliance

The Assistant Manager role involves a wide range of responsibilities including tax compliance, reporting, and project work. Key duties include assisting with local corporate tax filings across the Group, collaborating with advisors to optimize R&D and capital allowance positions, preparing corporate tax payment estimates, and supporting CbCR filings and tax audits. The position also involves forecasting and reporting local tax charges and cash tax, ensuring alignment with financial reporting systems, and contributing to tax process improvements. Additionally, the role supports legal entity simplification projects and other business initiatives.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
1. Supporting the Group’s Europe Corporate Tax Manager with local corporate tax compliance filing obligations across the Group.
2. Working with the Group’s advisers to optimise the R&D and capital allowance positions.
3. Preparation of corporate tax payment estimates.
4. Raising payment requests for corporate tax payments.
5. Preparation of the Groups CbCR filings.
6. Supporting with responses to tax audits.
7. Supporting the Group’s reporting of the underlying subsidiary entities, specific areas of note will include:
* Forecasting/reporting of local tax charges per territory.
* Forecasting/reporting of cash tax.
* Agreeing the tax records in the underlying financial reporting system.
Experience/Qualifications:
Qualified accountant or tax advisor (part qualified would be considered subject to wider experience).
Experience could be gained in practice or industry (or combination).
Proven track record in corporate tax.
Awareness of multiple tax territories; ability to understand and explain technical issues.
An understanding and ability to quantify, communicate and manage tax risk.
Strong IT skills and experience with accounting reporting systems.
Effective communicator; able to build strong relationships with colleagues in other countries and departments and with third party tax advisors.
A desire to identify improvements and drive change; demonstrating a ‘can do’ attitude.
Strong time management skills; comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently.
Able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
A desire to grow with the role as the Group continues to grow.
