We are looking for a new Admission / Discharge Nurse to join our Barlborough site. This will be 30 hours over 3 days per week including weekends.
Our Ophthalmic Nurses ensure a safe and efficient service, supporting outpatients through their clinical and theatre journeys.
You will manage the pre-operative patient process by performing a range of clinical assessments and getting the patients ready for surgery. The thought of eye surgery can be a daunting prospect for patients, so our Ophthalmic Nurses need to be empathetic and friendly, able to put patients at ease and help them feel comfortable while they are being prepared.
You will care for our post-operative patients by helping them relax while you explain the next steps and medication details, clearly explaining what they can expect and any possible side effects.
Our services are busy; we can typically see 18-24 patients a day in our high-volume cataract surgery provision, so you will thrive working in an efficient and fast-paced environment.
You will also support the consultant in outpatient clinics, undertaking diagnostic testing as required. You will maintain accurate patient records and ensure the highest standards are met in terms of patient safety, confidentiality, clinical compliance, and hygiene levels.
