Our Health in Justice service line is now expanding into non-Custodial healthcare, a person-centred approach delivered via a solid and consolidated infrastructure aimed to assess individuals mental health and neurodiversity requirements, to redirect them to the most appropriate channel.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our team in North Yorkshire.
Salary
This position is part time with various hours available. You will receive a salary of £28,000 to £40,000 FTE depending on experience.
Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK due to the nature of the role; offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main Duties of the Job
As an Assistant Psychologist, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* work with courts and probation to increase MHTR/CSTR as a disposal for those in contact with the criminal justice system.
* work in partnership with The Police, The National Probation Service, HM Courts & Tribunals Service, Drug and Alcohol Support Services, and the wider Liaison and Diversion Services.
* work in a therapeutic team which has the primary goal of improving health care outcomes and reducing reoffending for those who are experiencing mental health difficulties.
* deliver treatment through a national descriptive MHTR pathway, providing brief psychological interventions for difficulties such as low mood and anxiety, within a relatively complex population.

Qualifications and Skills Required
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology (entitlement to graduate basis for chartered membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society) or MSc in Forensic/Health
* Experience working with psychological trauma from diverse backgrounds
* Experience of working with adult mental health services or related areas
* Knowledge of evidenced-based psychological therapies relevant to managing mental health distress
Our person-centred model is focused on providing meaningful pathways to anyone faced with criminal charges, as well as understanding what triggers and socio-economic circumstances might lead to people offending.
We will treat individuals more holistically, focusing on the person and early intervention strategies to reduce risks and improve outcomes.
