Event Manager (Public Realm Programme) - This is a 12-month fixed term role.
The Event Manager (Public Realm Programme) will deliver events and activities across Factory International’s wide-ranging public realm programme: a variety of events and activities that engage the public in new and inventive ways.
From week to week, you will deliver a diverse programme of events, including quiz nights, poetry slams, children’s workshops, photography exhibitions, club nights, live music, community festivals, and weekend takeovers. The role is varied, and you will primarily work across the public areas of Aviva Studios to deliver exciting and innovative work for our audiences, visitors, and communities.
We are looking for someone at a developmental stage in their Event Management career, who can bring creativity to the development and delivery of events in the Public Realm. You will show skill in liaising with artists, community partners, and external suppliers to deliver memorable and distinctive projects on time and on budget.
This role sits within the Producing and Programme Department, responsible for scheduling, planning, and delivering all our activities, including artistic commissions, commercial events, and partnership projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the Public Realm Programme Manager on the day-to-day planning and delivery of assigned events.
* Formulate project plans, timetables, and schedules for each event based on event briefs, maintaining accurate debriefs and reports.
* Communicate professionally and timely with artists, partners, and community groups, ensuring excellent customer service.
* Monitor and forecast event budgets, ensuring events are delivered within allocated budgets.
* Process invoices and manage project reconciliation post-event.
* Negotiate and draft letters of agreements.
* Ensure clear information flow across internal teams using appropriate systems.
* Support other Event Managers on large-scale complex events as needed.
Person Specification:
ESSENTIAL
* At least one year of event management experience in a professional context.
* Understanding of delivering high-quality events that meet set ambitions.
* Ability to manage multiple events at different development stages.
* Good organizational skills, managing a complex workload while remaining calm under pressure.
* Financial literacy, including experience in costings, quotes, and budget management.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, building strong relationships with stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently and lead project teams, assessing complicated situations quickly.
* Engagement with and use of IT systems appropriate to the organization.
* Commitment to addressing under-representation and increasing inclusion in the arts.
DESIRABLE
* Experience with event management systems and processes, including Artifax and Spektrix.
* Experience working in various venues/sites with a range of stakeholders.
* Enthusiasm for training, mentoring, and supporting emerging talent.
