Applications are welcome for the above permanent,full time (40 hours per week) post based in Western General Hospital This is a full-time post (10 PAs) specialising in lung, upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary cancers. Consideration will be given to requests for flexible working. This is a replacement post, and the post holder will be expected to provide a consultant-led service including SACT, delivering care centrally in the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, and in Queen Margaret Hospital, Fife. They will work closely with other colleagues to deliver services across the SCAN region. The Medical and Clinical Oncology teams work closely together to deliver services across the SCAN region with peripheral clinics in NHS Dumfries and Galloway, NHS Fife and NHS Borders as well central clinics in Edinburgh Cancer Centre and clinics in West Lothian at St John’s Hospital. There are 2 central weekly MDTs (one at WGH and one at RIE) and also a local MDT in each of the other boards. The lung cancer radiotherapy service for the SCAN region is delivered centrally at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre (ECC), with systemic therapies delivered at ECC (Edinburgh and St John’s Hospital), including inpatient regimens as well as locally within the other boards. The Medical and Clinical Oncology teams work closely together to deliver upper GI/ HPB services across the SCAN region with peripheral clinics in NHS Fife, NHS Dumfries and Galloway and NHS Borders as well central clinics in the Edinburgh Cancer Centre. There is 1 central weekly MDT for UGI and 2 central MDTs for HPB. Systemic treatments are delivered centrally in the Edinburgh Cancer Centre and in peripheral hospitals, with radiotherapy services being delivered centrally at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, Western General Hospital.
