We are seeking a dedicatedFood Technicianto joina Cardiff secondary school. This is a full-time, long-term role supporting both staff and students in theirfood technology department.
Role Overview:As our Food Technician, youll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our teaching kitchens. Responsibilities will include:
Routine maintenance and safe, hygienic use of food preparation, storage, and cooking equipment.
Overseeing department laundry and the hygienic handling and storage of food ingredients.
Assisting in the preparation and safe storage of pupil projects and products.
Daily clean-down of teaching kitchens to maintain high hygiene standards.
Ordering ingredients and consumables as needed for classes.
Requirements:
Prior experience in a similar role, ideally within an educational or food preparation environment.
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (required).
Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean workspace.
Hours & Pay:
Hours:Monday to Friday, 8:30 am 3:30 pm (term-time only)
Pay:£85.04 to £100 per day, depending on experience.
