Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible and accountable for planning, executing, and closing Projects. They define the project, build a comprehensive work plan, and manage to the budget. The core function will be to collaborate with other functions within the business to implement new projects that are aligned to the company's growth expectations. Project Engineers demonstrate that they embrace our company core values, have a can-do attitude, and are dedicated to the timely completion of their work. They undertake tasks while ensuring that high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency are consistently maintained. Project Engineers are required to hold an in-depth understanding of our production processes and a willingness to get involved in SQCPD continuous improvement projects and processes, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Communication:
Construct and adhere to project plans, utilizing project management software tools. Be assertive with other functions while demonstrating a professional approach. Attend morning SQCDP meetings and further daily communication meetings to ensure understanding of targets and objectives. Build and maintain direct relationships with colleagues and customers, providing clear communication on all aspects of day-to-day operations. Escalate relevant issues by promptly bringing them to the attention of the Engineering Manager.
2. Safety:
Collaborate with the H&S officer and leadership team to reduce risks by following risk assessments and work instructions. Ensure a safe working environment and comply with all safety controls. Report accidents, near misses, and safety concerns to a member of the leadership team in a timely manner.
3. Quality:
Ensure projects adhere to customer expectations and provide clear, accurate responses to customer concerns in a professional and timely manner. Report any quality concerns to the line manager and actively seek to improve quality while carrying out duties. Comply with Company quality standards.
4. Cost:
Ensure compliance with project key milestones, targets, and objectives. Meet project deadlines efficiently, striving for productivity gains through VA activity and removal of 8 wastes.
5. Delivery:
Manage the allocated budget to support the company's objectives. Work closely with other support functions to deliver the company's objectives. Collaborate with the NPI function to deliver exceptional internal customer service. Monitor and execute the project plan, advocate for the customer, and keep customers and systems updated on any delays.
6. People:
Engage with our 'Switched On' Rewarding and Recognition process, uphold Company policies, and maintain high standards of attendance and punctuality. Participate in CI through our SQCDP processes to achieve and improve company standards.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent competency levels in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Demonstrable project management experience within a mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing environment. Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity levels and at various maturity stages.
Desirable:
Formal project management qualification. Product knowledge in electrical control cabinets and/or electro-mechanical assemblies. Competency in Microsoft SharePoint. #J-18808-Ljbffr
