Bid Writer

An opportunity has arisen for a Bid Writer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Facilities Management Business.
Ideally, you will based in or around the Midlands, our office base is Solihull.
As Bid Writer, you will be tasked with the creation of effective yet imaginative responses to pre-qualification and tender questionnaires; working with other stakeholders from around the division to acquire pertinent information and data. The Bid Writer will promote the Galliford Try business, through high quality written submissions.
What you will be doing:
1. Write high-quality winning proposal documents, to including producing, coordinating and editing written content
2. Manage the submissions process where required
3. Contribute to the bid team at key stages of individual tender projects, gathering technical information from internal departments to compile and ensure a high-quality bespoke solution is offered to the client
4. Actively participate in story boarding and development of strategic themes
5. Ensure all proposals are prepared in line with tender programme requirements
6. Ensure submissions are produced are to the highest quality and aligned with company bid management standards
7. Be responsible for proofreading material and providing technical and commercial writing skills
8. Assist with development of bespoke proposals, best practice information, technique guides, template answers and style sheets
9. Build and develop relationships with key business sector teams
10. Produce high-quality documents and submissions in line with identified deadlines
11. Analysis and review of previous submissions and document learning for implementation in future bids
12. Produce promotional/marketing materials and award submissions
13. Manage the submission content as part of the wider bid process
14. Assemble and shape construction information into compelling submissions
15. Write and edit pre-qualification documents
16. Write and edit capability statements and expression of interest documents
17. Liaise with the wider Pre-construction team for technical content
18. Create and edit presentations
19. Capture and collate evidence to support submissions
About You:
Competency Requirements:
20. Industry specific knowledge of Bid Writing within the Construction market
21. Ability to work as part of a team and own initiative when required
22. Proven track record in the sector or similar role, preferably with a main contractor
23. Excellent written English and communication skills
24. Flexibility to meet time pressures to deliver high quality submissions on time
25. Excellent organisational skills
26. Exceptional writing, editing and copy-writing skills
27. Adaptability and drive to progress the role into other areas including Business Development as and when necessary.
28. A naturally inquisitive nature to challenge ideas and provide innovative solutions
29. Display a creative flair in their writing and ensuring high standards of accuracy and document control.
30. Adaptable and able to deal with changing project requirements.
Technical Professional Qualifications:
31. Degree qualified – preferably in a subject with a high focus on creating high quality written work
32. Have previous experience in either a consultancy, Facilities Management or construction business
33. Willingness and ability to travel throughout the UK
34. Adaptable to deal with changing project requirements
35. Familiarity with Microsoft suite, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other desktop publishing software packages
