To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Planner to come and join our team at our Forticrete Site in Leighton Buzzard, Bedford, LU7 4SD. The successful applicant will work with the Site Engineering Manager and the Maintenance Manager to maximise performance of engineering operations. The Engineering Planner will be responsible for the work planning of the maintenance team and contract labour. The Engineering Planner is a day shift role and will work Monday to Friday (hours to be agreed on appointment). Specific responsibilities include: Leadership of the maintenance shut coordination, establishing best engineering practices Control and populate the engineering plan for all engineering personnel across all disciplines including contractors. To chair weekly scheduling meetings for planned activities Control, populate and prioritise a work backlog for all maintenance activities or activities involving the engineering team Key involvement with the management of CMMS system and Job request system Work closely with Maintenance Manager, Engineering manager and Operational Managers to provide a schedule of work for shift engineers to maintain and improve the reliability of assets Liaise with production, services and central functions, to ensure that routine maintenance is planned and job requests are executed and costed efficiently and effectively Ensure that equipment removed from the plant, that is being repaired in-house, is coordinated through the shift plan, Work Orders allocated to the repair of each item and appropriate cost captured Control of accurate records and documentation for all production and auxiliary plant including insurance records Site contact for contractors to ensure safe and controlled activities are completed on site and to the quality of engineering standards Essential Qualifications & Experience: Engineering Training / Qualifications (NVQ3, HNC ) IOSH or equivalent Planning/coordination experience Coordination of people and resources Problem solving tools and techniques to deliver efficiency Strong computer skills Good Communication techniques Knowledge of basic continuous improvement tools and techniques Desired Skills: Time Served, Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance (Mechanical), Engineering Manufacture (Mechanical), Mechatronics (Mechanical), or equivalent Maintenance experience and fault diagnosis of Pneumatics and Hydraulics systems Knowledge of Welding / Basic Fabrication Good knowledge of current Health and Safety Law and best practice application within a manufacturing environment Think you can make a difference?
