Job summary Applications are invited for a full-time locum post of Consultant in Spinal Rehabilitation available for a period of 12 months. The successful candidate will develop and support existing spinal rehabilitation services in our new purpose-built unit at University Hospital Llandough (UHL). A motivated and enthusiastic colleague is required to join the current team of five rehabilitation Consultants (across both spinal and neuro rehabilitation) and applicants should have at least two years postgraduate training in spinal rehabilitation. Although this post is full-time, consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements. Applicants should preferably either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within three months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview. You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The basic salary for this post is £116,600 per annum. In addition, applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee. Main duties of the job The Spinal Injuries Unit provides care for adults from a wide geographical area, including South and Mid Wales, and the postholder will be expected to provide medical support to the inpatients on West 8, run weekly outpatient clinics and also provide an outreach service to those patients awaiting admission to the unit.
