About the role:
To be the Lead Instructor of the JFD Military Diving Training (MDT) Team delivering mixed gas training using tactics and procedures as set out in safe operating policies operated by the client national policy. You will also act as the JFD Lead Instructor as part of the military dive training with the agreed training program that is progressive and follows a safe system of training (SST), primarily through delivery of theoretical lessons on how to prepare, operate and maintain stealth equipment.
Your key responsibilities will also include:
* To conduct JFD product and service training as directed within the bounds of the agreed training program.
* To ensure compliance with all company safety and quality assurance policies, processes and procedures to ensure that people and equipment are kept safe.
* To act as part of the JFD dive team, to dive JFD equipment as required.
* To ensure the JFD diving governance (DG) documentation is compiled and maintained for the diving activity and diving life support equipment (DLSE) assigned to support the delivery of MD training courses.
* To follow the JFD Diving Safety Management Plan (DSMP) for the undertaking of the duties as described.
Skills & Experience:
* You will need to be a Diver/Military Diver Competent Diving Supervisor.
* Working knowledge of UK Military Diving & Diving maintenance procedures.
* Working knowledge of JFD/MoD documentation.
* Competent Military Diving Instructor.
* Military Diver (Mixed Gas) would be ideal.
* Military diving equipment operator/maintainer (Open circuit and closed circuit).
* Experienced in diving - Mixed Gas.
* Experience in military diving would be preferable.
* Former Royal Navy Clearance Diver would be ideal experience.
* Royal Navy Instructor Competent - acted as a Senior Military Diving Instructor at the DDS.
* Royal Navy Senior Rates Leadership.
*To be Based at JFD Portsmouth but also to include trips to other dive site locations as directed by the Defence Diving Product Line Product Manager.
