OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE: (brief overview of key focus of position)
Supported by the Planning and Purchasing Manager, to coordinate the cost effective and timely purchase of Direct / Indirect and provision of repairable aircraft parts, to satisfy stock models, urgent requirements and scheduled maintenance events.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate Purchasing Activity
1. Coordinate the purchase and provision of aircraft parts to maintain stock levels and satisfy requirements
2. Plan aircraft part provisioning including rent, lease, PBH and purchase
3. Minimise cost in conjunction with provision of a safe efficient supply and promote this awareness amongst staff
4. Communicate changing lead times and non-availability of aircraft parts to other managers as appropriate.
5. Ensure activities are satisfactorily undertaken to support core returns, and repairs.
Managing and Supporting Purchasing staff
6. Ensure that all duties commensurate with the roles are managed effectively.
7. Provide performance feedback to employees and assist in the supervision of employees
8. Develop or maintain department KPI’s
9. Ensure that all training and development needs of the staff are met
10. Ensure that the department is resourced appropriate to fulfil the needs of the department efficiently.
Liaise with other Bristow Departments
11. Inform the operations daily of an update on the movement of critical parts.
12. Liaise with Accounts Payable to ensure correct and timely payment of invoices.
13. Liaise with Maintenance Planning organisation to coordinate the timely receipt of components and parts
Supplier Management
14. Develop and manage relationships with suppliers
15. Create and maintain strategic relationships with vendors to minimize financial planning risk.
16. Work with Compliance to review NCR’s associated with supply of parts and Monitor supplier performance.
Liaise with other Supply Chain functions
17. Work with Planning Group to identify optimised stock levels
18. Liaise with other departments to ensure efficiencies through logistics, Warehousing and inventory activity through weekly communications.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: (minimum education requirements, key skills and experience)
Qualification Standards
19. At least three year’s experience of working in a regulated purchasing environment
20. A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject, Business, Supply Chain, Procurement preferred
Experience
21. Experience in technical purchasing, ideally aircraft parts
22. Experienced in purchasing and contracts
23. Experience in supervising a team
