People Advisor, Birkenhead (£35,000 - £38,000)

We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic People Advisor to join our team, supporting both our sea-based and shore-based operations. This role is all about embodying Stena Line’s core values; welcoming, caring, and reliable, while contributing to making Stena Line an exceptional place to work.
As a People Advisor, your mission will be to provide expert advice, guidance, and support to colleagues across our business region. You’ll empower managers to excel in their people management responsibilities and grow into effective Stena Line leaders. With our Company and People Strategy at the heart of everything you do, you’ll champion all aspects of People Management.
Some of your key responsibilities
1. Deliver a comprehensive People service to managers and employees in alignment with our Company Strategy and Policies.
2. Provide expert guidance on Employee Relations, including case management and absence management.
3. Analyse trends and metrics to develop proactive and innovative solutions.
4. Drive consistency in the employee experience and foster engagement across the business.

Who you are:

You’re adept at handling the typical challenges that come with working with employees and aren't afraid to challenge managers to think outside the box.
You are motivated by empowering managers through coaching them in their daily work, helping them become the best people managers possible. You have a passion for working with people and seeing them grow, and you enjoy being closely connected to the operational aspects of the business.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent within HR
2. CIPD qualified
3. Absence Management and People Administration Experience
4. Knowledge of handling and resolving complex cases including but not limited to capability, occupational health reviews, phased returns, implementing reasonable adjustments.
5. Experience in critically assessing litigation risk
6. Fluent in English, both written and verbal
7. Experienced user of MS Office
8. Full driving licence & Passport - to drive/travel on a regular basis
