Are you an imaginative and skilled creative seeking a dynamic role in the world of publishing? A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join Pan Macmillan's art team, where your technical expertise in preparing artwork for both print and digital mediums will be vital.
Your team: You would be joining a small, close-knit team of three within the larger Art Department, working to keep all the final artwork on track and into production for critical path dates across Children's 6+ and Adult imprints. Teamwork and collaboration skills are essential.
Your role: You will report to the Studio Manager and be an integral part of the team. You will play a critical role by:
1. Creating final cover artwork and developing corresponding spines and back covers based on approved front cover designs.
2. Providing technical expertise in preparing artwork for both print and digital formats.
Your key responsibilities:
1. Implementing, creating and correcting cover artwork from existing ideas from the Design team.
2. Providing highly finished visuals/dummies of approved projects for sales presentations.
3. Producing high-quality artwork using InDesign, Quark Express, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
4. Liaising with the Production and Editorial departments regarding production schedules, proofing, and corrections, and chasing copy if necessary.
5. Liaising with Editorial, supplying artwork for approval.
6. Liaising closely with production, supplying artwork and working through technical problems (including dealing directly with printers).
7. Providing visuals and sales material to Sales and Marketing as required.
Essential Experience, Abilities And Knowledge You’ll Need To Succeed:
1. A creative portfolio of proven artwork experience.
2. Experience working collaboratively with and building relationships with colleagues across different teams.
3. Ability to take a design from concept to print-ready artwork.
4. Effective communication skills.
5. Ability to work on multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
6. Experience using InDesign, Quark Express, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

This is a full-time, permanent role, and will be based in our offices in Farringdon, London, with some flexibility to work from home each week.
