Hutcheon Mearns is supporting a dynamic and growing organisation in the manufacturing sector, seeking a Group Financial Controller for their Dundee business. A 60mill t/o group in the manufacturing sector, this organisation is on a path to continued growth through acquisition and is seeking an individual with strong financial accounting, financial reporting and corporate governance background for this key role. This is a new role within an organisation in which you will lead financial reporting, compliance and oversee financial operations of the company. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, managing financial statements, co-ordinating audits and ensuring compliance with local regulations.

The Opportunity
As Group Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the group's financial reporting across a number of entities both in the UK and internationally. Key responsibilities will include:
Financial Reporting Compliance
* Oversee the preparation and submission of consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS
* Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports are accurate and complete
* Provide insights and analysis to senior management on the group's financial performance including variances against budgets, forecasts and prior periods
* Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, tax filings and VAT returns
* Liaise with external auditors and manage the year-end audit process
Accounting Operations:
* Manage the day to day financial operations of the group, ensuring robust financial controls are in place
* Oversee the month-end and year-end close process
Financial Planning and Analysis:
* Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
* Monitor cashflow, liquidity and key metrics to ensure financial health
* Provide recommendations to improve financial performance and efficiency
Process Improvement and Systems:
* Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and reporting systems
* Ensure the finance team is equipped with the latest financial tools and technology
Leadership Team Development:
* Lead, mentor and develop a small team of finance professionals
* Foster a high performance and collaborative culture within the finance function
About You
This is an ideal role for a Qualified Accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent), ideally with experience in a financial accounting role in a group environment. Experience of working in a multi-national business would be highly desirable and strong technical skills including experience/knowledge of IFRS reporting standards would be preferred. Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance matters including VAT and corporate tax filings would also be desirable.
You will have strong analytical skills and an ability to analyse and interpret complex financial data and present to key stakeholders. Problem solving skills and excellent organisational skills, coupled with attention to detail and ability to manage priorities, are essential attributes for the successful candidate. You will have strong interpersonal skills and an interest in continuous improvement, driving change where required.

* Working hours: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday (flexibility offered)
* Hybrid working (4 days in office initially, with possibility of moving to 3/2 following probation period)
