Role description:
The position is created to support the current Global Insurance Director, based in the UK.
The Global Insurance functions role is to procure and maintain global insurance programs and oversee local insurance programs, with direct responsibility for UK and NL, to protect the Arcadis group against identified, insurable risks. The Global Insurance Manager is accountable for supporting with the setup and maintenance of the Insurance function and programs, the operation of the captive cell insurance company, and reports to the Global Insurance Director as part of the wider Finance team.
The Global Insurance Manager will support the procurement and maintenance of global insurance programs and local policies where required as per the insurance policies and procedures. The Global Insurance Manager will assist with the design, establishment, and maintenance of compulsory global insurance programs including but not limited to: professional indemnity, general/third party liability, cyber, directors & officers liability, crime, and travel at best possible terms and conditions. For this, the Global Insurance Director will continuously follow and analyze the changes in the business and the insurance markets to ensure the insurance coverage is sufficient or amended at the best possible terms and conditions. The Global Insurance Director is responsible for the correct operation and oversight of the captive cell insurance company.
The Global Insurance function works closely with:
1. The Global legal function and local legal counsels with regard to insurance claims handling.
2. The Global Risk Management function is to ensure standardized risk management practices and mitigants are well embedded in business operations
3. the finance functions around the group on budgets, premium allocations, processing insurance invoices, and monitoring thereof.
Furthermore, there is close collaboration with a wide and diverse range of colleagues in project bidding and execution as well as in Treasury, Accounting, and Tax.
Role accountabilities:
The following accountabilities are associated with the function.
4. Support the management of brokers on global insurance program renewals at the best possible terms and conditions.
5. Assist with the collection of renewal data, including the completion of proposal forms and update of underwriting presentations
6. Preparation of premium allocations on all global policies
7. Checking and monitoring of invoices, including raising POs
8. Ensuring accurate records of all policies globally to enable management information on spending by insurers and other metric
9. Direct Management of UK and NL policies to include, Motor, CAR, Property, Art, and Personal Accident amongst others
10. Oversight/monitoring of remaining locally placed policies
11. Creation of budgets following input from Brokers and preparation of bi-annual summaries for regional CFOs
12. Respond punctually to insurance queries on all matters from coverage questions to issuance of certificates
13. Creation and monitoring of insurance intranet page, to ensure resources are relevant and up to date
14. Regular monitoring of claims between the fronting insurer and captive cell to ensure records are accurate, including monitoring of annual aggregates
15. Deputize for Global Insurance Director when not available and carry out additional tasks as required
Qualifications & Experience:
16. Experience of at least 5 years in corporate insurance, either as an Insurance Manager or broker.
17. Knowledge of the corporate insurance market, its specific dynamics, and its players.
18. Strong communicator; maintaining contacts with internal and external parties.
19. Strong Excel skills, particularly for premium allocations.
20. No-nonsense proactive team player.
21. Flexible mentality and a service-oriented mindset.
22. Fluent in English, written and verbal. Dutch speaking is an advantage.
23. Relevant insurance certificates (ACII Assurantie A, relevant WFT level, RIMAP,) are desired.
