About Liverpool Ganesh Temple
We are a charity that has been serving the local community in Liverpool for over 15 years. Having recently received planning permission to expand our premises, we are seeking to hire a self-motivated and enthusiastic Charity Operations Manager. This role is responsible for the day to day running and management of the charity which includes the staff, the building, the funding, the daily activities of the Liverpool Ganesh Temple.
Ideal Candidate Profile
• Project Management Experience: Ideally, someone with proven experience in managing large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Community Engagement Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with both the local community and potential sponsors.
• IT Expertise: A sound understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and security measures is essential, possibly with experience in cloud solutions, network management, and security protocols.
• Digital Marketing & Web Development: Familiarity with website
management, content creation, and digital marketing strategies, including social media and SEO.
• Fundraising & Sponsorship Experience: Someone who is skilled at building relationships and managing partnerships for long-term success, as well as experienced in organizing and promoting events.
Main duties and responsibilities
• To contribute to the development and long-term strategy of the charity, providing regular reports to the Board of Trustees.
• To manage all operational activity of the charity according to the strategic direction provided by the Board of Trustees.
• To ensure the financial sustainability of the charity by identifying and securing appropriate funding that supports the charity in achieving its objectives.
• Administrative Duties –
o Task Management: Managing daily tasks like scheduling, organizing meetings, handling communications, and ensuring all project-related paperwork is up to date.
o Reporting & Documentation: Keeping track of the project's progress, producing status reports, and ensuring that the necessary documentation is maintained for transparency and accountability.
o Resource Management: Managing budgets, procurement of materials, and ensuring the smooth running of the operation.
o To lead on all fundraising activity including, individual giving, events, legacies, community, trust and corporate fundraising, to ensure our income streams remain stable and sustainable.
o To be responsible for all aspects of staff and volunteer management, including recruitment, training and supervision.
o To manage and monitor the charity’s budget ensuring cash flow remains stable at all times.
• Public Liaising
o Community Engagement: Regular communication with the community members to ensure they are informed about the progress of the charity’s expansion and how it will impact them. This may involve holding public meetings, consultations, and feedback sessions.
o Promoting Services: Developing communication materials (e.g., newsletters, social media updates, posters) to ensure the local community knows about the charity's services, upcoming events, and new offerings.
o Partnership Building: Establishing relationships with local organizations, government agencies, and other charities to foster collaboration and ensure the charity meets the evolving needs of the community.
• Keeping the Website Updated
o Content Management: Regularly updating the website with information about the charity's projects, news, events, and available services.
o User Experience Optimization: Ensuring that the website is easy to navigate, visually appealing, and fully functional across all devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
o SEO and Analytics: Applying search engine optimization (SEO) techniques to help the charity’s website rank higher in search results, and using web analytics tools to understand visitor behaviour and improve the site’s effectiveness.
o Event Promotion: Adding new events, campaigns, and fundraising activities to the website, making it a hub for community engagement and support.
• Physical Security:
o Installing security systems like cameras, alarms, access control systems (e.g., key card entry), and monitoring systems to ensure physical safety within the premises.
• Compliance: Ensuring that the charity adheres to any legal and industry-specific regulations regarding safety, data protection, and security.
• Sponsorship and Event Promotion
o Sponsor Relationship Building: Engaging with potential sponsors and partners (such as local businesses, philanthropists, and other organizations) to secure funding or in-kind donations for events, projects, or specific charity needs.
o Event Planning & Promotion: Assisting with the planning and execution of charity events, from fundraising to awareness campaigns. This may involve developing event strategies, creating marketing materials, and ensuring effective promotion through online and offline channels.
o Partnership Management: Nurturing long-term relationships with sponsors and partners by maintaining clear communication, showing appreciation, and ensuring sponsors receive value in return (e.g., branding exposure or community goodwill).
o Grant Writing and Proposals: Assisting with researching and applying for grants or other funding opportunities that can support the charity’s ongoing operations and future expansion.
• Additional duties
o To undertake any other duties within the scope of the post, which may be required by the Management committee.
