More about the Adult SLT Team:
The joint Acute and Community SLT Team are a supportive & social group of therapists, SLT apprentice, assistants & admin staff serving the Fylde Coast population. We strive for continued improvement & innovation to provide a high-quality responsive service. Over recent years we have streamlined our telehealth capabilities & continue to improve our long-established videofluoroscopy service. We also offer pharyngeal electrical stimulation within the inpatient setting. We are encouraging of & committed to continuing professional development and the training of SLT students.
You will :
• lead on, coordinate and provide evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy assessment, treatment and intervention to adult service users living across the Fylde coast
• manage complex aquired communication and swallowing disorders including assessment, diagnoses, treatment and coordination of care with other service providers.
• contribute to the assessment and information-gathering regarding mental capacity and ability to give informed consent, advocate, and to assist service users to maximise their independence in decision-making and communicating their wishes.
• Support the development of the Speech and Language Therapy service.
Your role will be integrated within the wider BTH Adult SLT service and will work with the team and other service providers to deliver person centred care.The department is focused on driving forward evidence-based practice and service improvements, and you will be actively encouraged and supported to participate in clinical supervision, CPD activities, audit and research.
