Join our team as a Flood Risk Asset Inspector and help protect our community from flooding. You'll work with the Senior Flood Risk Investigation Officer to implement the Flood and Water Management Act 2010, inspecting flood risk assets across Cheshire East. Your work will inform our asset management strategy, plan resources, and target key areas.
You will investigate significant flooding incidents, support recovery efforts, and oversee various projects. Additionally, you'll identify funding opportunities for larger projects, manage data for the Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFA) Asset Register, and assist with site visits and public meetings.
The Role
1. To assist the Senior Flood Risk Investigation Officer in the delivery of the flood risk functions, new duties and responsibilities
2. To manage formal flood investigations, report and relay pertinent information to the relevant audience
3. To help develop, maintain and review relevant Highway Investment and Local transport programmes of work consistent with the Local Flood Risk Management Strategy
4. Assist with delivery of Strategic Flood Risk Management Body and Flood Risk Management Strategy
5. Assist with regulation and technical adequacy of new developments and drainage works activity
Minimum Requirements
* Full clean driving licence
* Confidence in corresponding with members of the public, Council Members, MP’s and stakeholders using all forms of communication
* Empathetic and compassionate
* Working knowledge of legislation and technical requirements relevant to Flood Risk Management and other related disciplines
* Work well as part of a team and under your own initiative
