We are currently looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated candidates for the position of Kitchen Porter who will be responsible for assisting the Senior Steward / Chef in the correct running of the kitchen., Duties include:
* To ensure a continuous supply of plates and polished cutlery is always available if required
* Requisition of necessary store items, liaising with the Chief Steward for authorisation
* Ensure salt and peppershakers are clean and filled daily and lids are replaced as necessary ifrequired
* Sweeping and mopping of the floor between all meal and break times
* Cleaning the tables during and after service if required
* Emptying bins, bottle bins and ensuring that all areas of responsibility are always clean and tidy
* Cleaning of the service counter, emptying, and cleaning Bain Marie
* Daily cleaning of all surfaces behind service counter, milk machine, cutlery trays and trolleys.
* Relay any complaints or comments to the Chief Steward and Head Chef
WEEKLY CLEANING DUTIES:
* Cleaning inside of fridges
* Defrosting and cleaning the freezer
* Cleaning of all walls
* Reporting any equipment faults to the chief steward
* All other duties you may be required to perform in stewarding as directed by the Chief Steward and Chefs
Experienced in the Kitchen Department as a kitchen porter/assistant
* Willingness to work
* Ability to work under pressure with strong organizational skills
* Confident, professional, and welcoming personality
* Ability to carry out manual tasks
* Ability to work alone and in a team
* Hardworking, honest, and reliable
* Polite and helpful manner when dealing with guests and team members
* Assure a high standard of personal hygiene, with special attention to uniform
