Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team. We are now accepting applications for our Community and Engagement Team Members - Parenting Focus. This role will be responsible for engaging with parents with experience of care and the people and professionals that are in direct contact with expectant and new parents with care experience.
The Team Member will be responsible for our work in mid Central Scotland supporting parents who have been impacted by care. Our aim is to reach all expectant and new parents with care experience in Scotland and ensure they are aware of what is being offered through The Village and our other Why Not communities. The Team Member will use a variety of approaches, communication methods, and platforms to maximize engagement, including both in-person and digital options. This particular team member role will have a specific geographical focus and lead to developing links and engaging parents in identified locations. The team member will work closely with statutory sector and health staff, as well as voluntary sector groups to build knowledge of our work and identify and engage with parents. The team member will work closely with the peer mentoring lead, supporting recruitment of peer mentors within the specified area.

This post will be located in Scotland. This is a hybrid position with flexible hours considered. We anticipate we will be having further recruitment early in the new year for other areas. Role and Responsibilities
Advice
1. Provide high quality accurate advice, information and representation in line with the Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice Providers.
2. Build positive trusting relationships with individuals and families requiring advice.
3. Conduct interviews with clients either in person, telephone or virtual.
4. Maintain accurate records and fully utilise the Advice Pro recording system.
5. Manage and maintain ongoing advice casework.
6. Communicate effectively with third parties on behalf of the client.
7. Signpost people to relevant specialist support services where appropriate.
8. Maintain accurate computer records in line with CHAI procedures and ensure all client mandates are in line with Data protection legislation.
9. Provide consultation support to other professionals on advice.
Service Development
1. Support the development of services within their various locations, through maintaining positive relationships with our partner organisations, health care professionals, community link workers, social workers, and support workers.
2. Promote the service and represent CHAI to other agencies.
3. Deliver training or briefing sessions to help other professionals understand the welfare system and how they can support individuals.
4. Prepare as required reports on the outcomes and impact of the service to the Service Manager and Partners.
Personal Development
1. Actively participate in all training sessions provided.
2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of development in welfare benefits, debt issues and housing issues and participate in any training and activities.
Organisational
1. Adhere to the policies and procedures of CHAI.
2. Actively participate in Team and Organisational meetings.
3. Participate in the development of CHAI services.
4. Feedback on the review of organisational policies and procedures.
5. Promote and represent CHAI services positively.
6. Perform other reasonable related duties as required.

We are looking for a motivated and well-organised individual to support a new team working with communities across Scotland on the sustainable transfer of former places of worship into community ownership. This role is office-based, working in Edinburgh or Inverness, but with the potential for some home working. Travel throughout the country will also be required.
