Nurse Associate Position Orthopaedic and Fracture Clinics.
We are recruiting for a motivated, enthusiastic and patient care driven Nurse Associate to work within our Orthopaedic and fracture clinic at The Great Western Hospital in Swindon.
Ideal candidates will have the relevant skills required for Orthopaedic and trauma care and be committed to ongoing development.
The role is suitable for a Qualified Nurse Associate who has completed their Nurse Associate Foundation Degree awarded by the NMC.
Main Duties of the Job
The role will be based in the Orthopaedic Fracture Clinic at GWH, providing services to both adults and paediatric patients.
The role will include working in clinics such as Fracture Clinic, Cas Card Clinics, Follow-up Clinics, Wound Care for fractures and elective wounds, and Podiatry Clinics including diabetic foot issues. Assisting in the plaster room with the Orthopaedic Practitioners is also included.
To provide education and act as an advocate for patients in the outpatient setting. Assist Registered Nurses and Medical staff within the clinic setting.
There will be an opportunity to develop casting and splinting skills within the department.

4. Communicate sensitive, condition-related information to patients and their families, providing reassurance and empathy under the guidance of a registered professional.
5. To work independently in order to deliver care and services within the strategic objectives and principles of the organisation, recognising the need to promote safe practice; valuing the beliefs and aims of patients and carers; working in partnership, offering meaningful choice and valuing social inclusion.
6. Work within the departmental skills matrix for Band 4.
7. Escalate referrals for complex patient management needs to the registered practitioner.
8. Contribute to the development of a culture committed to the continuous improvement of quality care and patient experience.
9. Contribute ideas and support with the implementation of change, ensuring compassion for service users is maintained.
10. To demonstrate clinical competence developed through continual professional development and reflective practice, maintaining a skills portfolio relevant to the service.

Qualifications
* Foundation Degree or Higher Apprenticeship in Health & Social Care
* Level 2 functional skills or equivalent
