Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Assistant Curriculum Manager at Leyhill. This is a full-time position, working on a Maternity Cover basis. Day to day of the role
* To work under the direction of the Curriculum Manager to assist and deliver an innovative and relevant curriculum that meets the PEF contract requirements.
* To enable high quality teaching within the establishment/s to meet identified learning needs and support the reducing re-offending agenda and improve employability and resettlement prospects.
* Effective leadership, motivation and delegated line management of the Weston College teaching or administration team.
* Assisting with the recruitment, scheduling and utilisation of staff whilst assuring the quality of their work., HMP Leyhill is a Category D men's prison nestled in Tortworth, Gloucestershire. As an adult male prison with Category D status, Leyhill is a hub for residents deemed suitable for Open conditions. In partnership with Weston College, residents at Leyhill can engage in educational pursuits, ranging from English and math to IT. Additionally, comprehensive vocational training equips individuals with valuable skills and qualifications in wood machining, printing, laundry, retail, kitchen operations, farming, gardening, and fitness. Leyhill takes pride in its personalized approach, offering programs in personal development, social skills, and life management to assist residents nearing their release. A Teaching Qualification at level 4 and above.
* Experience of or able to demonstrate the ability to motivate and lead others through exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
