We’re hiring! Aon is currently recruiting a Chief Operating Officer - Global Broking Centre to join our team in London. The Chief Operating Officer will be primarily responsible for supporting the growth in revenue and profit, ensuring delivery of projects, initiatives, and the Target Operating Model (TOM) to achieve short-term financial results and long-term financial goals while ensuring effective and compliant operating practices within their areas of responsibility.

About the Role
Your impact as a Chief Operating Officer - Global Broking Centre:
1. Contribute to the Commercial Risk strategy by ensuring the Aon target operating model for the area of responsibility is documented, agreed, and implemented.
2. Ensure the requirements of the operating model are understood and supervise delivery and organizational change of IT and digital changes within the area of responsibility.
3. Partner with the CIO to implement global and regional business platforms as appropriate for the GBC and to lead UK-specific system needs.
4. Drive operational effectiveness through implementation of agreed global drivers.
5. Keep the GBC business leadership appraised of upcoming market, eCommerce, and technology developments and trends.
6. Develop plans to align with and bring to bear relevant changes.
7. Deliver on Aon’s strategic growth and service objectives within the GBC - set challenging short and medium-term goals.
8. Measure growth, service, and business performance; work with the business and finance leaders to support growth in profit and service that will enable Aon to differentiate from competitors.
9. Lead unforeseen operational issues and events effectively and in a timely manner to reduce risk.
10. Provide support and input to GBC Leaders on material issues arising.
11. Actively handle first line risks, minimizing exposure to financial loss, brand damage, or data loss.
12. Establish effective relationships with business leaders to ensure operational issues are resolved and key management activities are completed (e.g., HR calibrations).
13. Find opportunities to drive efficiency, improve margin, and resource utilization across the business.
14. Ensure business sponsorship and readiness for change programs within the GBC.
15. Ensure plans are robust, handled, and delivered on time, budget, and within risk tolerance.
16. Work with the UK Head of Operations to ensure location and utilization plans are in place and future needs considered and communicated.
17. Ensure appropriate access and use of systems or applications that support our business or produce data that is meaningful to the development of future client or market propositions or solutions.
18. Ensure effective operational resilience and business continuity planning is in place.
19. Accountable for Operations Client Service Delivery, whether handled directly or indirectly.
20. Work with UK Operations Leader and their team to drive service improvement.
21. Work with the GBC leadership, UK COO, and Global SL COO to develop, deploy, and drive utilization of new products and solutions, platforms, and solution line data needs within the region.
22. Optimize GBC procurement and travel spend; leverage analytics to find opportunities to support ESG objectives.
23. Ensure that processes, policies, procedures, and measures are in place for monitoring and maintaining standards of business conduct consistent with legislative and regulatory requirements.
24. Responsible for working in accordance with the FCA Risk Management Framework, and compliance with Aon UK and corporate policies.
25. Participate in the management of risks that may adversely affect the business, interests, or reputation of any Group Company.

Your knowledge and expertise:
1. Stakeholder management, interpersonal skills, and relationship building skills are required for the successful execution of this role.
2. Validated experience in a combination of finance, operations, and program management roles working in a matrixed, global organization.
3. Experience leading and driving sophisticated projects to completion.
4. Ability to lead by influence and drive consensus among senior executives.
5. Strong work ethic, tenacious, solutions-focused problem solver.
6. Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal, ability to communicate complex ideas simply.
7. Validated leadership skills with demonstrated integrity.
8. Excellent analytical, numerical, and information gathering skills.
9. Good understanding of the industries Aon operates within.
10. A track record of operating successfully in a regulated environment.
