We have a great opportunity to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Leeds, working as an English Teacher. This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

Leeds Prison, also known as HMP Leeds, is a Category B men's prison. Established in 1847, it has played a significant role in the UK's correctional system. The facility can house over 1,200 inmates and offers various programs aimed at rehabilitation and skill development.
What the role entails
As an English Teacher, you will develop and deliver high quality, learner-focused education to meet contractual requirements and standards, in line with Novus policies and procedures; supporting learners and colleagues alike to ensure the best outcome for all who work within our sector. What we need from you
To be effective in the role of English Teacher, you will need to:
* Be willing to develop and work towards Level 5 Certificate in Education and a subject specialism in English OR hold a teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months.
* Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/ Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or commit to work towards within a specified timeframe.
* Aspire to develop in the role as an English (or Maths) Teacher.
* Enthusiasm and commitment to a career in teaching.
Remuneration and Benefits
Successful candidates will be offered a salary of between 29,047 to 38,124 per annum, dependent on your level of qualifications and experience.
