Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) is a five-force collaboration delivering Counter Terrorism (CT) services to our regional forces as well as forming part of the national CT Network. CTPNW’s mission is to work together to keep people safe from terrorism.
We are looking for a committed and outstanding individual who can support CTPNW in achieving its mission.
The National Border Targeting Centre (NBTC) is the sole 24/7 Passenger Information Unit (PIU) for the UK. It is responsible for countering the known and unknown threat at the UK border and is designated as one of the UK’s Critical National Infrastructure Sites.
The role of CT Police within NBTC includes the dissemination of fast time alerts for intervention before or during travel, research within e-Borders data on behalf of investigators and the provision of guidance to Forces and other crime Partners.
The CT Police Team within the NBTC provide support to major investigations and enquiries through both the intelligence and investigative phases.

You must be a UK National to work for CTPNW. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be considered. For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants will be required to hold or acquire the appropriate national security vetting clearance.
* Vetting Requirements
This is a designated post under the Force Vetting Strategy and the post will therefore applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) level before taking up the post.
For the purpose of safeguarding national security and in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.

CTPNW are happy to accept officers on secondments from the Forces within the Collaboration Agreement – Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire and Merseyside. Details of secondment opportunities will be discussed if you are found appointable.
