The post holder will lead at a corporate level within the Royal Free London Hospital Group to support performance delivery against all national cancer waiting times standards across all divisions, working collaboratively with the divisions and the cancer teams to develop their capability, deliver specific performance targets and standards, develop, improve and enhance the services they provide.
The post holder will play a key role in the delivery of the cancer waiting times (CWT) performance and access strategy, leading on all areas of cancer performance achievement for the Trust. They will act in the role of Lead Cancer Manager for the Trust working closely alongside the Lead Cancer Clinician and Lead Cancer Nurse, overseen by the Group cancer Operational Director. They will also act as the organisation’s representation at North Central London system meetings and be an active member of key internal and external project groups, working collaboratively with other providers, the North Central London Cancer Alliance, and commissioning colleagues across the ICS and Region.
The post holder will be a specialist resource to the organisation: as a subject matter expert in all aspects of cancer waiting times and wider elective access national guidance, as well as related operational processes and performance management; and as a facilitator of demand and capacity modelling and planning at tumour site, cancer pathway and organisational level.

Person specificationEducation & professional Qualifications
* Degree in line with key competencies in operational or project management or equivalent operational experience
* Educated to Master’s degree level or significant experience in acute operational/programme management
Experience
* Proven expertise to lead, plan, manage, interact with colleagues and deliver projects/programmes successfully in a spirit of cooperation.
* Able to demonstrate significant staff and team management experience and ability to manage complex situations.
* Experience of working at a senior level across organisational boundaries.
* Experience of a variety of project planning and programming techniques.
