How you'll make a difference
As the Community Meals Saturday Catering Assistant you will make a difference by assisting and preparing nutritious meals to be delivered to some of the elderly and vulnerable members of the community who may not be able to cook for themselves. What will you be doing?
1. You will be working at Badminton Road, Yate to assist the cook with the preparation and cooking of hot and cold food and snacks for lunch and tea time meals.
2. You will work with the catering team in the kitchen to ensure the food service is on time, serviced and packed for the drivers to collect and distribute in the community
3. You will be actively partaking in cleaning duties and complete cleaning schedules.
4. You will have the opportunity to learn new skills to support development.
What you need to know
5. Hours per Saturday: starting times of either 7.00 am or 8.00 am - with mid-day finish (3.5 hr shift)
*We are flexible and could offer more than one Saturday shift a month if requested Community meals is a year-round service, including Christmas and Bank holidays Based at the Council Offices, Badminton Road, Yate, Bristol, BS37 5AF Uniform will be provided We will offer food hygiene and Allergen training if required
What we need from you
6. You will have experience of working in a food preparation environment and exceptional customer service, dealing with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
7. You will have the ability to work efficiently and at a sustained pace.
8. You will be able to demonstrate high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the workplace.
