Job Overview
A highly skilled professional to work in a busy customer-focused and technically challenging environment within ICT Services.
Responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting server infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability across all systems.
Broad knowledge of specific ICT skills, including, but not limited to: VMware, SQL, Load balancing, DNS, Windows, and Linux OS.
Provide expert guidance and expertise in digital technology solutions, including their implementation and continuous management.
Main duties of the job
Reporting to the ICT Business Systems Manager, the post holder will be part of a team that supports the ICT infrastructure of Aneurin Bevan Health Board, which comprises over one hundred sites, including hospitals, clinics, and associated support and administration services.
* The post holder will work as part of the Systems Support Team within ICT Services and will undertake the technical tasks required in providing comprehensive systems support service to the Health Board and other organisations.
* The post holder will be involved in project and technical support.
* The post holder will supervise a team of ICT Systems Support Analysts.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications And Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent demonstrable level of work experience and knowledge.
* Plus post-graduate diploma level specialist IT training and experience to include:
* Information technology
* ITIL Intermediate Lifecycle qualification
* Evidence of Continual Professional Development
Desirable criteria
* One or more certified MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), MCP (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer).
* Formal project management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE 2)
Experience
Essential criteria
* Excellent team worker, able to work collaboratively as part of an innovative and agile team, whilst being able to manage personal workloads to meet agreed deadlines.
* Experience of project management of technical systems projects or technical sections of major systems projects.
* In-depth understanding of other ICT server systems including virtualisation, remote desktop, and server hardware.
* Knowledge of scripting software e.g. PowerShell and/or automation.
* Evidence of leading the design, development, and deployment of computer system upgrades and implementations.
* Stakeholder management skills essential to delivering the right solution.
* Experience of using a major call management/helpdesk application.
* Providing expert advice and knowledge of digital technology solutions, their implementation, and ongoing management.
* Working in an ITIL structured ICT department.
* Identification of risks and risk management.
* Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
Desirable criteria
* Experience of ICT service provision in a health care setting.
* Wide-ranging experience of ICT and service management principles.
* Experience of SQL Server.
* Advanced Windows server operating system knowledge including SQL server and clustering.
* Experience of reporting tools such as SCOM.

* Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh.

* Able to be independently mobile to meet the requirements of the post.
