We are seeking to appoint a teacher for our EYFS/KS1 unit, preferably with a SEND background, although this is not essential as training will be provided relevant to experience and the cohort of children. Many pupils have Autism Spectrum Disorder and others have a profile with a similar presentation. The Position You will be key members of the team, carrying out the professional duties of a teacher whilst undertaking any duties and tasks under the reasonable direction of the senior leadership team: Planning and delivering lessons to pupils, in particular those with severe learning disabilities Assessing and monitoring the specific needs of the pupils with SEN working as part of a team to secure the best possible outcomes for pupils What you will offer You will not need to have previous experience working in a SEN provision, but must demonstrate a thorough understanding of SEN. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of effective strategies to meet the specific communication needs of pupils with significant SEND and must be able to plan lessons effectively for groups and all the pupils. You will: have successful teaching experience across primary, secondary or both have strong subject knowledge in your own subject and also the ability to teach across other subject areas.
