As a Lead Contract Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will act as the primary point of contact for all Contract Management matters relating to an assigned supplier and/or contract, working towards the construction of Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station based in Suffolk. Day-to-day, you'll be working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within a technically complex programme, holding responsibility for delivering contracts in accordance with NNC governance requirements to meet project and business objectives.
* Contributing to procurement and contracting strategies to meet the overall SZC Project objectives.
* Supporting upfront contract development activities across technical, programme, legal and commercial disciplines.
* Support to the budget process and analysing the commercial requirements of a contract.
* Support to the Commercial Lead in ensuring all internal governance approval is in place.
* Managing contracts in accordance with the contract terms (predominantly NEC3 and FIDIC), SZC governance requirements and SZC Project objectives to achieve a successful close.
* Promoting and embedding a strong nuclear safety culture, the right level of oversight, control and surveillance of supplier activities.
This position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role. This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with one/two days in the office and three/four days working from home, amongst being adaptable and can be delivered from various locations including Bristol or London.
* Proven ability of working within a complex major project/programme environment in both procurement and post-procurement phases.
* Experience of standard forms of contract (NEC and FIDIC) within the power/construction industry on complex major projects/programmes.
* Evidence of successfully undertaking administering of complex contracts.
* Good understanding of procurement, contract performance measurement, risk management and change and claim management.
* Excellent negotiating, influencing and communication skills.
* Honed commercial skills and demonstrable ability to make sound decisions on complex matters (considering technical and commercial topics) of high financial value.
* Understanding of UK and international supply chain within nuclear sector.
Qualifications for the Lead Contract Manager
* Educated to degree level ideally in a technical / engineering subject
* Member of RICS/ICE/CICES/IOB or equivalent professional body
Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain S Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
