We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Tendering Engineer Apprentice to join our team based in Newcastle. As a Tendering Engineer Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in preparing technical and commercial tenders for both the Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy sectors. As an Apprentice Engineer in Tendering, you will support our sales, cost-estimating and project teams, helping us respond to client needs with high-quality, accurate proposals. As an Apprentice Engineer, Tendering (Oil & Gas), you will: Learn to Review Client Documentation: You’ll begin by reviewing client specifications, identifying any discrepancies, and clarifying uncertainties to ensure strong foundations for tender preparation. Assist in Tender Preparation: Work alongside the team to coordinate technical and supporting documents for the sale of JDR products and services. Support Customer Communication: Help with client clarifications, attend meetings as needed, and respond to customer queries during the tendering process. Work on Proposals: Assist with the sales enquiry and tendering process, from the initial enquiry stages to order acceptance, managing deadlines and customer requirements. Maintain Accuracy: Ensure that all tender documents meet the highest level of accuracy and compliance with internal procedures. Manage Deadlines: Support the team in managing your own workload to meet tender submission deadlines. Collaborate with Other Departments: Work closely with internal teams to gather the necessary information and resources for successful tender submissions. Identify Risks and Contribute to Process Improvement: Learn to identify potential risks and help improve the processes, systems, and procedures for future tenders. What You Need: Interest in Engineering & the Energy Sector: A keen interest in the Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy sectors. A keen interest in the subsea cable industries is essential. Strong Organisational Skills: Good administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm under pressure are key to success in role. Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with software packages such as Microsoft Office and other CRM systems is a plus. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are important, as you will be assisting with proposals and engaging with various teams and clients. As an Apprentice, you will earn a competitive apprentice salary for the duration of the scheme. To be considered for these opportunities you must have 4 GCSE grades at level 4 or above including English and Maths and be computer literate. You should have a keen interest in our growing industry and be motivated to achieve results to a level above and beyond what is expected. Hours of work will be 37.5 hrs per week, Monday to Friday.
