An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic manager to join the Kolvin Service. The Kolvin Service is an integrated adolescent forensic mental health service, which provides into two Secure Children's Homes (SCHs) in the North East for young people aged 10-18 years.
The challenging nature of this post requires suitable applicants to be experienced in mental health or learning disability who are highly motivated, enthusiastic, and well organized. They will be required to manage time across 2 sites. They must possess sound clinical and management leadership qualities, have excellent decision-making and communication skills, enhanced risk assessment and intervention skills, as well as a commitment to multi-agency and partnership working.
We are looking for an individual who has well-developed skills in working collaboratively with clinicians from different disciplines and professional backgrounds.
It is essential that candidates understand and value the principles of collective leadership and are keen to build on these in strategic development and thinking. The successful applicant will demonstrate sound skills in building relationships at all levels; with team members, the service Trust management, NHSE, and external stakeholders.
Main Duties of the Job
The Kolvin Service collaboratively leads on the implementation of the SECURE STAIRS trauma-informed framework at Aycliffe Secure Centre Durham and Kyloe House SCH Northumberland. The SECURE STAIRS framework represents a shift in focus within the secure estate from interventions focused solely on young people to interventions focused on the whole system.
The current role being advertised is team manager of the Kolvin service, which is an integrated service into our Secure arm of the service providing NHSE commissioned adolescent forensic mental health services into Aycliffe Secure Centre in County Durham and Kyloe House Northumberland. The post holder will be operational from both locations and must be able to prioritize their input into each of the homes.
The manager will be responsible for management oversight of the Kolvin service.

Person Specification
Education and Qualification
* First Level Registered Nurse RNMH, RMN, RNLD or equivalent first level qualification (e.g., Social Worker, OT, Clinical Psychologist, etc.).
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of coordinating and managing staff resources.
* Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team using a community-based approach.
* Experience of working within mental health and/or learning disability settings.
* Experience of leading teams and taking on a leadership role in project management.
* Commitment to partnership working, both multi-agency and multi-disciplinary.
* Coordinating and supporting staff in the day-to-day provision of clinical services.
* Awareness of human resource issues and budget management, including undertaking Joint Development Reviews.
* Experience in working with adolescents.
Skills and Competencies
* Demonstrate leadership skills/delegation.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict management.
