Test Engineer

Salary £26,000 to £30,000 depending on experience
Are you an Electronics graduate with some test experience? If so, my client one of the world leaders in the design and manufacture of control and monitoring systems will be really excited to hear about you. The Test Engineer will test products in R&D as well as production.

Free parkingDuties:
Inspect and test electronic / electrical products in production
Inspect, repair and test product customer returns.
Reconfiguration of existing test equipment, or request the purchase new equipment required
Determine the set of tests necessary to test and prove the functionality of the software based on the functional description supplied by the design team.
Test the functionality of in-house application software (primarily embedded) using a 'Black box' functional testing methodology.
Maintain test equipment, tools and environment.
Provide feedback to design engineers regarding products to improve standardisation and innovation in design.
Participate in regular team meetings to ensure continual improvements.
Skills and Experience:
Qualified to degree level in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
Hardware test experience is essential
Experience of application/software/controls testing would be preferred
Experience of the marine industry would be preferable
Experience of traction and locomotive engineering ideal
Knowledge of electrical machine basics (generators, transformers, motors), prime movers and generators used in industry would be useful along with electrical protection devices & energy monitoring devices
