The role will be predominantly based at the company headquarters in Cumbria, with customer travel as required. The organisation is a manufacturing business that acts as a tiered supplier into large complex construction projects, both in the UK and internationally. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious construction sector professional to join a fast growing market leading organisation, in a role where there is significant opportunity for career progression, both in the next 12 to 18 months and longer term.
Role Profile:
* Stakeholder management, contract management, commercial project management and optimisation of commercial returns through effective service delivery.
* Overseeing an internal technical team, a commercial project management team and team leaders of external customer facing operational staff, whilst taking personal responsibility for commercial contract management, senior level customer engagement and stakeholder management.
* Engaging effectively with the external sales function to enhance proposition quality and accuracy of service level agreements.
* Business travel and customer engagement as required.
* Upline reporting to the Managing Director and Board as appropriate, particularly regarding contract performance and highlighting any business risk at the earliest opportunity (commercial, health and safety, quality and operational).
Person Specification:
* Likely to have a background working for a main contractor or tiered supplier within the construction industry. An understanding of product installations into construction projects would be beneficial.
* A quantity surveying / commercial management / contracts management background is preferable.
* Exposure to the commercial complexities of significant bespoke construction projects is preferred.
* Repetitive standard build experience is less appealing than point three above.
* Flexibility to spend 60 to 80% of time per week in Cumbria (certainly in the early stages of the role) is preferred. Accommodation could be included in the package for the right candidate.
