To drive quality culture on site and ensure the site remains compliant with the requirements of the sites’ Quality Manual. To provide all required technical support to enable factory areas to meet food safety and GMP standards. To work with all departments to drive continuous improvement in the factory.
Key Areas of Responsibility

* Drive high standards of GMP within the areas of responsibility, ensuring close-out of any issues relating to GMP or audit failures. Monitor performance to ensure sustainable corrective action.
* Ensure the procedures that form the Quality System are followed and that products leaving the factory meet legal requirements, quality standards & customer expectations. Ensure all documented checks are completed in full, highlighting any discrepancies with the relevant department. All documents to be filed in a timely manner and be readily available as required.
* Support all trials carried out online, contributing towards setting appropriate quality standards and the QAS. Ensure that all relevant factory paperwork and Tropos information is in place for all product launches. To be accurate and reflect the required process to ensure product meets the customers specification.
* Work with all departments in investigating failures and customer complaints, assist in problem solving and promote ideas for sustainable solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
* Establish good co-operative internal relationships with relevant departments and colleagues.
* Carry out internal audits throughout the year against the internal audit schedule.
* Cover for holidays and sickness within the QC Team.
* Carry out weekly/monthly calibrations.
* Carry out GF testing on the line.
* Drive continuous improvement of all our internal processes, e.g., non-conformance, failure, concession, traceability.
* Support the development of the British Bakels quality culture and lead by example in corrective and preventive action planning and delivery.
* Own the development plan for your assigned ownership area. Develop and maintain your knowledge and expertise in relevant areas.
Person Specification
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a production or quality role within a manufacturing business (ideally food manufacturing).
* Minimum Level 2 Food Safety and Level 2 HACCP.
* Excellent communication skills – for confident and professional liaison with internal and external customers.
* Influencing and negotiation skills to bring about change and ensure a ‘right first time’ approach.
* Determination to see a task through to the end and challenge barriers.
* Self-motivated and responsible for time management.
* A users’ knowledge of Tropos, Excel and Word.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Internal auditing qualification or experience.
* Experience working in a Quality role within UK retailers.
* An understanding of customer Codes of Practice, specific certification requirements, e.g., RSPO, HALAL, BRCGS.
