Come and join our front-line service Strategic Management team and help us calculate, support, and pay our scheme members their pensions. This role heads up the Employer and Communications area of the team which includes working together with our employers; our scheme actuary; our member support customer service team; arranging digital communications for both members and employers; and our Finance team. We have an internal Technical & Training team that will help you learn all you need to know about the pension schemes that we administer in order to undertake this role efficiently.
A role where no two days are the same, you will use your attention to detail, organisational, management, knowledge, presentation, and customer service skills to provide our team and clients with an exceptional service whilst working effectively with the rest of the management team.

In the Employer and Communications area, we ensure the efficient and accurate delivery of all pension information from employers to the team in line with our Pension Administration Strategies, to enable us to provide timely and accurate delivery of administration to members and potential members of schemes administered by Peninsula Pensions. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of colleagues brought together from many different paths including public and private sector finance and straight from school. As one of four Strategic Leads, you will join a team of professionals working together to serve in excess of 650 employers. You will need to be confident with presenting performance & scheme update papers to Pension Boards on a quarterly basis for each of the schemes that we administer and, in your ability, to organise your own workload as well as that of your area to ensure all targets are met.
We provide a high-quality, comprehensive, end-to-end pension administration and pension payroll service for over 200,000 scheme members. Peninsula Pensions is provided by Devon County Council and is a shared service with Somerset County Council. As well as looking after the administration needs of employers and scheme members of the LGPS we also administer the Police and Firefighters’ Pension Schemes for Avon & Somerset Constabulary and Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service, respectively. Whilst you will be working as part of one of the three key areas, you will be responsible for your own client tasks & will report to the Head of Peninsula Pensions.
