We have a fantastic opening for a Financial Account to join our Backstage support team in Finance.
Our Backstage support teams are crucial to the delivery across all five of our venues – The NEC, bp pulse LIVE, Utilita Arena Birmingham, the ICC, and Vox - and include IT, Finance, Marketing, People, Legal, Safety and Procurement. Collaborating seamlessly with our frontline operational teams to create unforgettable moments for the millions of people that visit us each year.
About The Role
This role will support the Group Financial Controller and wider Finance team will all aspects of financial corporate governance, tax and statutory reporting.
Day to day you will:
• Support the Group Financial Controller & wider finance team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial reporting obligations.
• Support the Group Financial Controller with the Group Capital process including the approval and financial control of projects and Capital Board reporting obligations.
• Prepare group & subsidiary statutory accounts and coordinating and managing all aspects of the audit process.
• Prepare VAT and tax returns, working alongside our tax advisors to provide quality lead schedules and provision of information to support the completion of annual tax computations.
• Prepare and report on group balance sheets and maintaining and reviewing control accounts.
• Design, monitor and report financial controls to mitigate fraud and support compliance with the Senior Accounting Officer and regulatory regimes.
• Lead on asset management policies, controls and reporting.
• Support the finance operations teams to deliver resiliency, including the event settlement process.
About You
Our Ideal Candidate will:
• Be ACCA/ACA/CIMA Qualified with at least 2 years’ experience of statutory reporting and tax.
• Have strong attention to detail and a highly organised approach to work and priorities.
• Be experienced in using a nominal ledger systems.
• Experience with data tools such as power BI reporting.
• Have advanced Excel, numerical and analytical skills.
• Have excellent communication, interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a team.
• Have a curious mind and a willingness to learn new skills from others and your own research.
