About The Role
We are recruiting for a Facilities Engineer to add to our current Maintenance Team at our Alconbury site!
Reporting to the Site Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all non-manufacturing assets.
As a part of the Engineering function, you will work with the site to strive to achieve optimal operational efficiency at the lowest cost through the delivery of targets.
Core Business Responsibilities
* Ensure the Utilities Planned Preventative Maintenance and condition monitoring programme is adhered to and ensure the equipment operates safely at all times.
* Carry out minor building maintenance repair work and assist with checking installation and servicing of building equipment.
* Ensure regulatory documentation is managed.
* Assist 3rd party suppliers carry out routine utilities’ maintenance, inspection, and testing.
* Directly supervise on-site contractors and in-house resources, providing clear direction to ensure Facilities maintenance activity is carried out to best practice, current legislation, and strict H&S guidelines.
* Induct external contractors and ensure all regulatory documentation is available, accurate, and recorded.
* Ensure all utilities meter readings and data loggers are operational and accurate.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
* Champion a safety culture within the department, constantly improving standards and engagement.
* Embrace a culture of safe behaviour and contractor health and safety within the production and engineering areas.
* Challenge unsafe practices or conditions.
* Ensure accidents, incidents, and dangerous occurrences are dealt with in accordance with company standards.
Site Services and Energy Management
* Work within a site services KPI framework to drive performance standards of Water, Air, Gas, and Electricity.
* Responsible for the reduction of site utility consumption in line with Group targets.
* Work with operational peer groups sharing best practice and providing advice and support as required.
* Work with the Maintenance Manager and the Engineering team to ensure site electrical standards comply with current relevant legislation.
* Support and assist in MES development for Energy monitoring.
About You
Skills and Experience
* Hands-on experience in a site services/Facilities Maintenance or an Engineering environment.
* Experience with roller shutter and vinyl speed doors is an advantage.
* Experience of repair and maintenance of Water, Air, Drainage, Refrigeration, HVAC, Electrical & Mechanical systems and assets.
* Good hands-on minor repairs experience relating to building fabrication, utilities, facilities, and office furniture and equipment.
Qualifications
* No formal Engineering Qualification required.
* UK Drivers Licence.
